Dear guitarists, enthusiasts, and friends:
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the fourth biannual Texas A&M International Guitar Symposium and Competition. The 2016 edition of the Symposium will take place October 14-16 at the beautiful Texas A&M Campus. We are thrilled to bring a variety of programming and performances by distinguished concert artists from Central America, Great Britain and the US! This year we have the distinct pleasure to present The Eden/Stell Duo made possible by an exciting collaboration with and the generous support of the Friends of Chamber Music. Similarly, the TAMU International Guitar Symposium joins forces with the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra in a thrilling and unprecedented partnership for the final evening concert presenting concerti by Vivaldi and Rodrigo with the award winning Texas Guitar Quartet as soloists and Maestro Marcelo Bussiki at the podium. Complementing the public recitals, our world-class faculty will also present multi-class residencies, masterclasses and lectures. Additionally, the Symposium hosts the Nancy L. Cooke Memorial Professional Competition with youth and professional categories.
We hope that you will join us for what promises to be an uplifting, exciting, and enriching event!
Dr. Isaac Bustos, Artistic Director.
